We enjoyed some of the best that Colombia and Puerto Rican cuisines have to offer and have decided which we think is better. We know that many of our readers have attachments to either culture, so we proceed knowing that someone will be disappointed.
Colombian dishes on The World Cup of Food:
- Ajiaco, chicken, potato, and corn stew (with Colombian cuisine overview)
- Arepas, corn cakes
- Pollo Sudado, sweaty chicken
Puerto Rican dishes on The World Cup of Food
- Pernil Asado, roast pork shoulder (with Puerto Rican cuisine overview)
- Arroz con Gandules, rice with pigeon peas
Puerto Rican and Colombian foods are pretty similar. Native Caribbean cuisine in both cases was influenced heavily by the Spaniards who colonized them, and both make use of a similar arsenal of ingredients. We like Puerto Rican food a little more right now, and Puerto Rico will advance to face China in the next round. Adios for now, Colombian food. We will be sure to revisit you again soon.
