Final: Jamaica vs. El Salvador

It is time again to decide between two cuisines on The World Cup of Food, this time Jamaica and El Salvador.  The food of the two nations is very different from one another’s and again the decision has been hotly contested.

Salvadoran dishes on the World Cup of Food:

Jamaica brings us jerk chicken and peas and rice, two preparations that showcase the strong African influence on the island’s food.  For El Salvador we had pupusas and curtido, a combination available all over the tiny Central American nation.

Our pupusas were great, tiny pockets of cheese-filled goodness.  Our Jamaican dishes won us over, though.  Tender, spicy jerk chicken and hearty rice and peas have earned Jamaica a place in the round of thirty-two, where it will face France.
